- Harvesting Overview (6:50)
- Harvesting Roles (7:55)
- There are two main roles: data providers and service providers. Data providers are repositories that expose structured metadata via OAI-PMH. Service providers then make OAI-PMH service requests to harvest that metadata.
- OAI-PMH Vocabulary (8:40)
- Verb (requests or services): the action that the harvester is requesting from the OAI provider.
- Response size: the maximum number of records to issue per response. The small increments that will be manageable for the harvester.
- Resumption token: when a request returns records greater than the response size, a resumption token is issued such that a harvester can resume its harvesting from where it left off.
